The wrong apporach

The current approach of consolidating smaller into larger schools is detrimental to the creation of good educational settings. As student population are decreasing, it is imperative that the system diversifies into smaller and more flexible school units. Doing so will reduce classroom size, lower costs, and improve student performance.   The opposite of what is currently happening.

Freedom to read

Protecting student access to diverse perspectives and information is crucial for fostering critical thinking and intellectual maturity during their schooling years. We must address all concerns about sensitive material by employing these materials as teaching tools rather that creating a culture of fear, where kids will reach for this material in secrecy and without guidance.

Health education

I strongly support and would be happy to assist Rep. Carol Spackman Moss's effort to continue her efforts to establish school curriculum that include instruction on sexual assault resource strategies and sexual violence behavior prevention.
Promoting a diverse, equal, and inclusive learning environment for all students is paramount.

Let them play!

Sports in public schools should have as a goal to educate, not to win.  There might be a place and time when it is appropriate to separate athletes by gender or ability, but a public school is not that place.   The goal should remain to expose as many kids to the benefits of physical exercise, healthy lifestyles, and extend a safe environment for any kid who wants to PLAY.

Education is a fundamental right. Any obstacles put in place to prevent someone from gaining equal access to information diminishes our community's potential.  Do you have any ideas on how we can improve access to education for everyone?
