Roadway Safety is community safety
The problem is rather simple: in 2016, UDOT set a strategic goal to reduce fatalities by 30% by 2030. It is 2025 and fatalities have not dropped; in fact, they have gone up. Let's insist on a real shift of strategy and demand that safety be made their top priority before they keep widening roads and building Gondolas.
Sustainable Development
Let us commit to holding our leaders accountable, insisting that economic growth never comes at the cost of our safety and health. Together, we must actively protect the well-being of our community by supporting policies that prioritize safety and health over unchecked development. We can build a sustainable future for generations to come.
Affordability is a right
Insurance costs keep rising, but coverage is shrinking. Taxes go up, and services diminish. Higher cost of living and lower quality of life. To resolve these issues, I intend to reaffirm the basic truth that growth is the natural outcome of a safe and healthy community. If growth has become a burden it is only because poor governance demands that we grow beyond our natural ability to do so.
Public education is a right
It is not enough to ask us to disagree better, we need to teach people how to disagree better. Education is the pathway to improving critical thinking, diminish prejudices, safeguard human rights and shape well informed and ethical citizens.
